Why GMAT/GRE Shortcuts Won’t Get You the Score You Want

A person attempting to take a shower using a makeshift shower head made from a Mountain Dew bottle. The image humorously illustrates the inefficiency of using quick fixes or shortcuts, drawing a parallel to how relying on ineffective shortcuts in GMAT/GRE preparation can lead to subpar results.

A GMAT/GRE prep Question: Do you think using shortcuts and tricks, such as plugging random values (extremely popular on Quant), reading only the first paragraph and the last line of an RC passage (THE WAY to read according to many), and Vertical Scanning (it’s not what you think it is), is an effective approach?
Answer: It’s as effective as using a mountain dew pet bottle for a shower head (as depicted in the image); If all you’re looking for is a lousy shower (score), you won’t be disappointed 🙂
